Nijut Maina 2.0 Scheme Cheque Distribution Ceremony Held at Cotton University

DD TIMES Guwahati, November 11: A cheque distribution ceremony under the Nijut Maina 2.0 scheme was recently held at Cotton University.

The event was graced by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Ramesh Chandra Deka, Registrar Dr. Hiren Deka, and Director, Students’ Welfare Dr. Gunendra Chandra Das.

A total of 2,159 beneficiaries received cheques under the scheme, which aims to extend financial support to students and promote inclusive access to higher education.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Ramesh Chandra Deka highlighted the importance of such welfare schemes in enabling students to pursue their academic aspirations without financial barriers.

He remarked that initiatives like Nijut Maina 2.0 reflect the Government of Assam’s commitment to fostering equity and excellence in higher education.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and administrative staff of the university.
