New Registrar Takes Charge at Cotton University
DD TIMES Guwahati, October 8, 2025: Dr. Hiren Deka, Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics, has taken charge as the new Registrar (in-charge) of Cotton University after the former Registrar, Dr Arindam Garg, was released due to health reasons.
Dr Deka has been associated with Cotton University since 2005, serving as a dedicated faculty member in the Department of Mathematics. Over the past two decades, he has also taken on several significant administrative roles, including Controller of Examinations (i/c) and Director (i/c) of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).
Expressing his views on the new role, Dr Deka said, ‘It is both an honour and a responsibility to serve Cotton University in this new capacity. I look forward to working collaboratively with all stakeholders to further strengthen the institution’s academic and administrative excellence.’
Dr. Deka’s appointment as Registrar (i/c) is expected to ensure continuity and stability in the University’s administrative functioning as it continues its pursuit of academic distinction and institutional growth.
