Assam Recognised as Progressive State in Sainik Kalyan at National Conclave 2025 by Ministry of Defence at Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi

DD TIMES Guwahati, 30 September 2025: The Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence, organised a National Conclave on Viksit Bharat 2047 at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi, on 29–30 September 2025.

During the inaugural session, the Directorate of Sainik Welfare, Assam was invited to represent the State as one of the most progressive Rajya Sainik Boards in the country.

Addressing an august gathering of dignitaries, policymakers and stakeholders, Brigadier Polash Chaudhary (Retired), Director highlighted the inclusive initiatives and best practices adopted in Assam.

It reaffirmed the State’s unwavering commitment to the welfare and empowerment of Ex-Servicemen (ESM), Veer Matas, and Veer Naris, and outlined the key achievements and impactful welfare measures that have positioned Assam as a frontrunner in veteran care and rehabilitation.

The Hon’ble Raksha Mantri, Shri Rajnath Singh, lauded the Directorate of Sainik Welfare, Assam, for its outstanding contribution to the ESM fraternity and recognised it as a progressive Rajya Sainik Board. The honour stands as a tribute to the land of the great warrior of Assam, Lachit Borphukan.
