ASSAM BLIND CRICKET TEAM DEPARTS FOR THE NAGESH TROPHY GROUP F MATCHES AT LUDHIANA, PUNJAB

DD TIMES Guwahati, 30th October 2025: The Assam State Blind Cricket Teamhas officially departed today for Ludhiana, Punjab, to participate in the Group F matches of the Nagesh Trophy for the Blind – 2025, organized by the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) from 2nd to 6th November 2025.
The team was selected through a rigorous trial process conducted at Nehru Stadium, Guwahati, under the supervision of a duly constituted Selection Committee comprising representatives from CAB Assam, Assam Blind Sports Association, and Care U 365. The selection emphasized bowling, batting, fitness, and fielding performance, along with consideration of players’ past CABI tournament records to ensure fairness and transparency.
The following players have been selected to represent Assam in the national tournament:

All players and officials assembled at Surajmal Juharmal Sanganeri Dharamshala Trust, Guwahati, for a pre-departure briefing earlier today.
The team expressed high morale and determination to bring pride to Assam by showcasing their skills at the national level.
Shri Bhrigu Borthakur, State Coordinator of CABI (Assam) and President, CAB Assam, extended his best wishes to the team and acknowledged the continuous efforts of Care U 365 and Assam Blind Sports Association in nurturing blind sports in the state.
Shri Rajdeep Dakuwa, Secretary of the Assam Blind Sports Association, expressed confidence in the team’s performance and reiterated the Association’s commitment to strengthening the blind cricket movement in Assam.
He thanked all supporters and well-wishers who have come forward to encourage the players and make their journey possible.
The Salute Tiranga Assam Pradesh, under the leadership of Shri Anup Sinha (President) and its Patrons Shri Krishnendu Paul (Hon’ble Minister, PWRD, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary and Fishery Department, Government of Assam), Smt. Dipti Dayal Khaund (Former Vice President, Assam Olympic Association), and Er. Kailash Sarma (World Strengthlifting Champion & Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Awardee), also extended their heartfelt best wishes to the team for a successful performance at the national level.
